BA ENTRY: Medusa

My entry for BA's 25th Single battle. When the theme was announced to be Myth, who didn't think Medusa? (Though I'd like to do Zeus at some point).

Anyway, I decided rather than doing an action piece I'll join the few and do a story. It's easy to forget that Medusa was once human and has a story and a sad one at that.

So after another long day of keeping herself alive from her would be murders and so called heroes, Medusa retires to a secret place in her lair where for many long years she has kept the remains of her first ever victim - the man for whom she was cursed.

How merciless are the gods? Not content with transforming her into this vile state, the man she loves would be the first to fall victim to her murderous gaze. She tried to hide from him, to warn him not to seek her, but in his love he sought desperately to lay eyes on the woman he loved. He could not understand why she would not let him see her and there is little comfort in knowing that his last thoughts would have been 'now I understand'

Nuff said. I've decided that my BA piece will all be in pencil. Trying to hold down 2 1/2 jobs I have to choose between quality and speed. I choose quality. If I’m only pencilling I can put more time and dedication into the piece. But if I have to ink it too then it becomes rushed to ensure I’ve got something to submit. Pencilling and inking are two separate drawings on the same paper
